Crazy Kiwi


No, this is not a story about a rugby player from New Zealand, but the lovely green fruit that got its name when it was brought to New Zealand by missionaries in the early twentieth century.

Kiwi fruit: one of the nicest, freshest, tastiest fruit to have in summer (or any other time actually). They are packet with vitamin C, potassium and fiber, to name just a few of the health properties.

Kiwi fruit are higher in vitamin C than citrus fruit. In fact, it contains almost double the vitamin C of oranges. Besides this, the amount of potassium is similar to that of bananas and the fiber content is higher than apples, strawberries and bananas.

All of these are added benefits to the great taste that you get when eating this lovely green fruit. Kiwi fruit is used more and more in fruit juice mixes as it has a stronger acidic taste than apple juice and a much higher vitamin C content.

Kiwi fruit are being researched for their ability to improve sleep quality as they contain a variety of antioxidants and serotonin that helps with sleeping quality.
